I'll be reading at the upcoming Grotto Nights at the San Francisco Jewish Community Center, along with Mary Roach, Stephen Elliott, David Duncan and others. It's part of Litquake, which is a fabulous week of readings that is always a great time. It culminates with the famous Litcrawl up and down the Valencia Street corridor on Oct. 11. More on that below. But first, Grotto Nights:
Saturday, October 4, 8 pm A Night of "Intimacy" With the San Francisco Writer’s Grotto The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, 3200 California Street $22 General Admission/$20 JCCSF Members Followed by reception 9:30-10:30 pm Tickets available online here. Grotto Nights is back with "Intimacy" -- a multimedia extravaganza of tight genes, body fluids, and misplaced affections. The evening will feature authors Mary Roach, David Ewing Duncan, Elizabeth Bernstein, Stephen Elliott, Laura Fraser, and Jennifer Traig, filmmakers Caveh Zahedi and Jay Rosenblatt, music by Marc Capelle, plus an audio documentary by Jennifer Durban and art by JD Beltran, Emily Korson, and Jan Blythe. Come and get under the covers with us for an evening of literary and artistic hanky panky. Tickets available at the door or in advance at the JCC website.
And on the 11th, I'll be reading as part of Smith Magazine's Six Word Memoir event (but I'll only be reading six words.) Here's the info on that:
